Precision cutting
Whether oxy-fuel or plasma, we cut the standard plates into the sizes you require.
We go all the way up to a thickness of 350 mm. Of course, AWS provides more than merely run-of-the-mill work. From discs to complex contours, our CAD/CAM techniques help us convert your paper or digital design into steel cutouts in no time whatsoever.
Advanced machinery
AWS has cutting beds with a total length of 150 meters and a width of 6 meters, with
an integrated smoke gas collection system and automatic slag removal. Our machinery includes 5 CNC-driven oxy-fuel cutting machines for a cutting depth of up to 350 mm,
2 HD plasma cutting machines for cutting depth of up to 50 mm, and a beveling robot for 3D contour oxy-fuel cutting.
We have various machines and techniques for beveling and/or chamfering either by machine or manually, using plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting, grinding or milling.
At AWS, we have a full set of modern machinery and our experienced, skilled staff ensures quality work.
Certi cation and additional tests
All of our plates are at least 3.1 certi ed, but the majority have a 3.2 certi cate, offering you the certainty of approval by an independent noti ed certi cation body (Lloyd’s Register, DNV GL, TüV, American Bureau of Shipping). Each plate has been hard-stamped with its heat and plate number.
AWS is authorized to re-stamp the 3.2 certi ed material, which guarantees full
traceability. If required, we can have additional mechanical tests performed by laboratories or arrange for chemical composition- or microstructure analysis to be performed.
